Grasp of the Emerald Claw
Ivi’s tale falls into the categorical cliché of ‘wrong place at the wrong time.’ Trapped under a fallen tree in the rainforests of Xen’drik for a hundred years, he remained optimistic and never considered his circumstance to be bleak. To be alone with one’s thoughts he came to realize can be advantageous. As the countless seasons wove themselves around him, he witnessed the time of many dear animal companions rise and fall. His inability to move built within him a unique foundation of placidity, compassion and auspiciousness. During this time, he was discovered by a Drow scout who periodically took a pause in his shift to discuss the ways of the rainforest with Ivi. Recently, before being liberated from his confinement by a like minded and steadfast druid, he was blessed with the trust and devotion of a rare, tropical eagle companion, called a Sorrowdusk eagle. Many days were spent communicating and developing deep bonds with the eagle as he perched ardently on Ivi’s shoulder. Ivi happens to find human and humanoid creatures to be fragile, sweet and adorable. He tends to treat his allies like a den mother affectionately watching over her young.
